Backyard Fun

What beautiful weather we've had!!! I was able to get Laney outside to enjoy some warm sunshine this evening. Here are some snapshots of our time outside.

Just-a swang'n. Laney is and has been in the "watch me" stage. "Mommy, watch me! Watch me!"

Talking up a storm

Mattie was hanging in the Ergo Carrier while outside. She eventually fell asleep while Laney and I ran around. You have no idea how hard it was to get this picture and the number of times I had to take it.

Here's our cabbage that's growing in our garden. Now I just need some sausage to fry it up with. Mm!

Good o'l Daize chillin in the sunshine

Peppers from the garden and my little helper!

Laney was so happy to pick some peppers! I love her excitement in the picture below.

11.5 weeks - Mattie

Oh these pictures just MAKE MY HEART MELT. She's so squeezable and lovable.

I love how she's looking RIGHT at the camera. For the record, she is nowhere NEAR being able to sit up. I just have her propped up well. She is, however, holding her head up pretty good. Still a little bit wobbly, but not much.

And after seeing her in purple, it's definitely one of her colors. :) I just love her.

Laney & Friends

Last Tuesday, I hosted a playdate at the house, the first big playdate I've had since Mattie has been home, where a few families were represented. I guess it just seemed big to me because I haven't had a playdate here in quite a while. The girls had fun, and I had a great time talking with Gi and Sarah, the other Mommies.

Olivia, Laney and Katie playing dress up. Here, I caught them in action as they held hands and danced around.

You can't go wrong with a Ballerina, a Little Mermaid and a Princess. :) Too cute!
I love this table that my Mother-in-Law bought for Laney. It's so nice to have when friends come over to play. No booster seats needed when you use a little table. When friends aren't coming over, I push the table to the wall and use it as Laney's reading nook.
Thanks for coming over to play Himes and Startiis!

Billy Goat Bubble Bath

Last weekend, I heard my Mom ROLLING in laughter back in the bathroom where she was giving Laney a bath. I was then beckoned to come "look." I'm telling you my mom was GUT laughing. These pictures don't do justice to fun those two were having with these bubbles.

And here's a little bubble carrot nose...

Matching PJ's

Laney and Mattie are wearing matching pj's, thanks to Aunt Sandy Santiago.
She always mails us the cutest clothes! Laney was THRILLED that I asked if she could hold Mattie. Look at her excitement!

Just grinning ear to ear. She kisses and loves on Mattie more than I thought an older sibling would love the younger. I'm so thankful. I know the sibling rivalry will be upon us in a few years though, if not sooner. And those teen years....oh boy...Hugh will have fun in a house of teen girls. :)

They were both petting Daisy.

Here are Laney and Mimi mixing up some mashed potatos for us for lunch. My mom cooked it up for us while she was up here: Turkey breast, gravy, mashed potatos, corn...etc.. MMM! Thanks Mama!
I'm not sure if you've noticed it yet, but Laney has bangs. I hesitated getting bangs, but since her hair was in her face most of the time (since she would pull her clippies out), I thought why not? I really like them on her.
